This seal is suitable if:
- Your glass is 8–10mm thick.
- Your bottom gap is approximately 3–7mm.
- Your door has enough side clearance for the fin to flex.
- Your existing seal has a side-mounted wiping fin.
- Your shower tray or threshold is uneven.
- There is a guide rail or bottom hardware beneath the door.
Choose another seal if:
- Your shower door is curved.
- Your framed door leaves almost no room beside the glass.
- The side fin would hit the frame during opening or closing.
- Your bottom gap is larger than approximately 8mm.
- You need a straight bottom fin instead of a side fin.
Suitable Applications & Installation Notes
Unlike a conventional bottom seal, SL810DTL uses a flexible side fin that extends from the side of the profile rather than directly underneath the glass.
This design is intended for shower doors where a standard vertical fin would interfere with guide rails, rollers or other bottom hardware. It is also useful where the bottom gap is slightly uneven, allowing the side fin to flex against the shower tray while maintaining contact.
The profile fits 8–10mm glass and is designed for bottom gaps of approximately 3–7mm, with a maximum working gap of around 8mm.
Because the wiping fin projects sideways, there must be enough clearance for it to move freely.
This seal is not recommended for curved shower doors, as the rigid carrier is designed for straight glass. It is also unsuitable for framed doors where the side of the glass sits tightly inside a channel, leaving insufficient space for the fin to operate.
Remove the old seal, clean the glass edge and push the profile evenly onto the glass. Check that the side fin wipes lightly against the shower tray without catching on nearby fittings.
