Collection: Shower Threshold Seals

A shower threshold seal is a clear water barrier strip fitted to the shower tray, bath edge or tiled floor to help reduce water escaping at floor level. It is often used with a shower door bottom seal for extra protection, especially on walk-in showers, frameless shower screens and bath screens.

Not sure whether you need a bottom seal or a threshold seal?

A bottom seal clips onto the bottom of the shower glass and helps push water back into the shower area. A threshold seal is fixed to the shower tray, bath edge or floor to form a small raised barrier.

If the leak starts directly under the glass, check your bottom seal first. If water continues to travel across the tray or bathroom floor, adding a threshold seal can provide extra protection. For many shower setups, the best result comes from using both together.

Fitting Tip: Using a Threshold Seal with a Bottom Seal

When fitting a threshold seal with a shower door bottom seal, allow the soft fin of the bottom seal to overlap the threshold seal by around 1–5mm.

An overlap of more than 5mm may create too much resistance and make the shower door harder to open or close.

Why Fit a Bottom Seal and Threshold Seal Together?

A bottom seal helps direct water back into the shower, while a threshold seal creates a low barrier on the tray or floor.

When fitted together, they provide better protection against water escaping under the shower door or screen.

Need to Cut Your Threshold Seal to Size?

Measure the fitting area, mark the seal carefully, then cut it to length using a suitable fine-tooth saw or cutting tool.

Shower Threshold Seal FAQs

Where should I fit a shower threshold seal?

A shower threshold seal is usually fitted to the shower tray, bath edge or tiled floor, just below the shower door or screen.

Do I need a bottom seal as well?

In many cases, yes. A bottom seal helps direct water back into the shower, while a threshold seal creates a low barrier at floor level.

Can I cut a shower threshold seal to size?

Yes, most threshold seals can be cut to length using a suitable fine-tooth saw or cutting tool.

Which shower threshold seal should I choose?

Choose D510 for straight screens with more than 10mm fitting space, PV29 for curved or narrow areas, RY3463 for larger gaps, and VH009 for smaller gaps or a neater low-profile fit.
