This seal is suitable if:
- Your shower glass is 6mm, 7mm or 8mm thick.
- The bottom edge of the glass is straight and exposed.
- Your gap below the glass is around 10–14mm.
- You need a 16mm flexible fin to reach the tray or threshold.
- A central bottom fin would be obstructed by a hinge, fitting, wide threshold or raised section below the door.
- Your required finished length is 950mm or less.
Choose another seal if:
- Your glass is thinner or thicker than 6–8mm.
- Your bottom gap is well outside the recommended range.
- The lower edge of the glass is curved.
- You need the sealing fin directly underneath the centre of the glass.
- A frame or metal rail prevents the seal from pushing directly onto the glass.
Offset Fin for Doors With Bottom Fittings or Wider Thresholds
VC8 is a clear push-fit bottom seal for 6–8mm straight shower glass, with a 16mm flexible side fin designed for gaps of around 10–14mm.
Unlike a profile with the flexible fin directly underneath the centre of the glass, VC8 places the fin to one side.
That can be useful on shower doors where a bottom hinge, fitting, raised threshold or wider door sill would otherwise press against a centrally positioned fin.
The offset fin can reach down beside these features and make contact with the tray or threshold without sitting directly underneath the glass edge.
It can also be used on a standard shower door where this side-fin position suits the existing layout.
The seal pushes directly onto the glass without adhesive and is supplied in a 950mm length for trimming before fitting.
