Note: The channel may appear slightly narrower than the glass thickness in the profile drawing. This is intentional and helps the seal grip the glass securely once fitted. Use the listed glass thickness as your main fitting guide.
This seal is suitable if:
- Your shower glass is 4mm, 5mm or 6mm thick.
- You need a bottom seal for a straight frameless shower door or screen.
- Your bottom gap is approximately 12–16mm.
- You want both a lower flexible sealing fin and an angled water-deflecting fin.
- Your required finished length is 1000mm or less.
- The lower glass edge is smooth and free from bulky fittings.
Choose another seal if:
- Your glass is 8mm, 9mm or 10mm thick.
- Your bottom gap is well outside the recommended 12–16mm range.
- Your door or screen has a curved lower edge.
- A metal frame or thick bottom trim prevents the U-channel from fitting directly onto the glass.
- You need a magnetic, side, T-slot or track-mounted seal.
Suitable Applications & Installation Notes
VD456 is a clear clip-on bottom seal for 4–6mm straight frameless shower glass.
The rigid U-shaped channel grips the lower edge of the glass without adhesive. Beneath it, the profile combines a 17mm soft sealing fin with an additional angled water-deflecting fin.
The longer lower fin is designed to reach the tray or threshold across a recommended bottom gap of around 12–16mm, while the angled fin should face towards the wet side of the shower to help guide water back inside.
The 12–16mm figure is a recommended working range rather than an absolute limit. The important check is that the flexible fin makes useful contact without being heavily folded or creating excessive resistance when the door moves.
The clear PVC profile remains discreet once fitted and is suitable for replacing worn, stiff or discoloured seals on straight shower doors and screens.
Supplied as a 1000mm strip and can be trimmed to the required length before fitting.
