This seal is suitable if:

  • Your glass is 4mm, 5mm or 6mm thick.
  • You need a bottom seal for a straight shower door or screen.
  • Your bottom gap is around 13–17mm.
  • You need a strip up to 1000mm long.
  • Your old seal has a similar U-shaped clip, angled fin and lower drip strip.

Choose another seal if:

  • Your glass is 8mm or 10mm thick.
  • Your bottom gap is smaller than 13mm or larger than 17mm.
  • Your door bottom is curved.
  • Your shower door has a metal frame or thick edge trim.
  • You need a short-gap rigid seal, magnetic seal, side seal, guide rail seal or track seal.

Suitable Applications

VD456 is a clear clip-on bottom seal for 4mm, 5mm and 6mm frameless shower glass. The top section has a rigid PVC U-channel that clips onto the bottom edge of thin glass without glue.

Its profile includes an angled water-deflecting fin and a longer soft fin. The longer fin has a round centre bead.

Compared with a simple straight bottom seal, VD456 is better suited to thin-glass shower doors that need both side water deflection and lower gap sealing. The flexible fin is approximately 17mm long and is designed for bottom gaps around 13–17mm. Fit the angled fin facing inside the shower area to help guide water back towards the tray.

The seal is made from clear PVC, so it remains fairly discreet once fitted. It is supplied as one 1000mm strip and can be trimmed shorter if required. It is suitable for replacing old thin-glass bottom seals that have become yellow, stiff, worn or less effective at keeping water inside the shower.
