Best Non-Melting Sauna Door Seal Strips in UK

Last updated: 12 January 2026

You invested in a sauna for total relaxation. But if things don't feel quite right, it's usually down to one of these common headaches:

🔥 Melting or warping – Ordinary PVC just can’t hack it above 75°C. It softens, twists, or leaves a sticky mess behind.

💨 Escaping steam – A dodgy seal drops the temperature and can hike up your energy bills by 30%.

⚠️ Heads up: Standard shower seals are PVC and won't work in a sauna. You need our high-heat TPE seals.

At SIMBA, we provide pro-grade solutions that:

  • ✅ Handle 180°C+ continuous heat with ease
  • ✅ Never melt or give off nasty fumes
  • ✅ Keep the heat in and the bills down
SIMBA TPE Sauna Door Seal

1. Why standard seals melt (The hard truth)

Most bathroom seals are made of PVC, which is a big "no" for saunas.

Material Max Temp What happens? Risk
Standard PVC 65–70°C Warps and sags Toxic fumes & leaks
SIMBA TPE 180–200°C Stays spot on Safe & Efficient

Expert tip from Laura: TPE has that rubbery flex but handles serious heat. If a seller doesn't mention a specific heat rating for a sauna seal, walk away!

2. How to seal your sauna door

Fit & Function

Just like standard doors, you'll need side seals and bottom seals. Simply pick based on your glass thickness.

Go TPE, Not PVC

We only recommend TPE. It stays flexible and handles extreme heat without losing its grip or performance over time.

4. Your Questions Answered

What's the best thing to seal a sauna? +
You need a high-temp TPE seal. It’s the only thing that stays flexible up to 200°C to keep things airtight.
Is a gap under the door okay? +
A tiny gap (up to 15mm) helps with airflow, but anything more just lets your expensive heat escape. A proper strip fixes that.
Do I really need a seal? +
Absolutely. It stops steam from escaping, keeps the temperature steady, and saves you money on the electric bill.
