This seal is suitable if:
- You have a framed folding shower door.
- The seal is required at the vertical centre joint between two moving door panels.
- The opening of each aluminium frame slot is at least approximately 4mm wide.
- The space inside each aluminium channel is wider than approximately 6.5mm, allowing the T-shaped fitting edge to slide into place.
- A flexible centre section of approximately 20mm suits the distance between your two framed door panels.
- You need a vertical strip up to 2000mm long.
Choose another seal if:
- Your shower door is frameless.
- You need a bottom seal or another horizontal seal.
- The frame slot opening is narrower than approximately 4mm.
- The internal aluminium channel is not wide enough for the approximately 6.5mm T-shaped fitting edge.
- Your door does not have two suitable vertical aluminium channels.
Suitable Applications
The DOU01 is a vertical centre-joint seal for framed folding shower doors. It connects two framed door panels while allowing them to fold and move together.
Each side has a T-shaped edge that slides into an existing aluminium frame channel. The centre is made from soft, flexible PVC approximately 20mm wide, allowing the seal to bend as the door opens and folds.
Before ordering, check the two measurements that determine whether the seal can be installed:
- the aluminium slot opening should be at least approximately 4mm
- the space inside the channel should be wider than approximately 6.5mm
The 4mm measurement refers to the narrow opening through which the fitting edge must pass. The 6.5mm measurement refers to the wider T-shaped section that sits inside the aluminium channel. Both conditions need to be met.
The flexible 20mm centre makes DOU01 suitable where the distance between the two folding panels is relatively narrow. It provides movement at the centre joint without requiring the more specific twin-channel profile used by DOU02 and DOU03.
If you are unsure whether DOU02 or DOU03 matches your old seal, DOU01 may be the more practical option provided that your aluminium channels meet the 4mm and 6.5mm fitting checks. The channel dimensions should always be confirmed first.
The seal is supplied in a 2000mm length and can be cut shorter to match the height of the door.
DOU01 must be installed vertically and is intended only for framed folding shower doors. It is not suitable for frameless glass, shower door bottoms, horizontal installation or magnetic closing edges.
