This seal is suitable if:

  • Your shower door is a sliding shower door.
  • Your glass thickness is 4mm or 5mm.
  • The closing gap is no more than approximately 22mm.
  • You need to replace the vertical side magnetic closing seal.
  • Your required length is 2000mm or less.
  • You need a push-on seal that can be cut to size.
  • You are replacing an old, worn, yellowed or weak magnetic side seal.

Choose another seal if:

  • Your shower door opens inwards or outwards.
  • You have a pivot, hinged or curved shower door.
  • Your glass is thicker than 5mm.
  • The closing gap is larger than approximately 22mm.

Suitable Applications & Installation Notes

M45B2M is a pair of vertical magnetic closing seals for sliding shower doors made from 4mm or 5mm glass. It is particularly suitable where thinner glass is combined with a relatively wide closing gap.

The two magnetic strips are designed to face one another in a straight 180-degree arrangement when the door is closed. This profile is suitable for closing gaps of up to approximately 22mm.

The gap does not need to measure exactly 22mm. A smaller gap may still be suitable, provided the glass thickness and straight closing arrangement also match.

The replacement seal does not need to look identical to the old profile. Magnetic seals can vary between manufacturers, so the main checks are the glass thickness, the direction in which the magnets meet and whether the closing gap falls within the stated range. Both strips are supplied in 2000mm lengths and can be cut down to suit the height of the shower door. The clear frosted PVC channels push directly onto clean glass edges, so tape or adhesive is not normally required.

Before fitting, remove both old seals and clean away any soap residue or limescale from the glass. Press the new profiles on evenly, then close the door slowly to check that the magnets attract and meet along the full height.

M45B2M can be used to replace magnetic seals that have become yellowed, brittle, loose or too weak to keep the sliding door closed evenly. When the fitting measurements are correct, the new pair can help restore the magnetic closing action and reduce water passing through the vertical meeting gap.
