1. Is the V456S12 Right for My Shower Door?
Yes, if your shower door is frameless, your glass is 4–6mm thick, and the bottom gap is around 9–12mm. The 12mm soft fin helps close the gap beneath the glass, while the included D510 threshold bar adds a second water barrier.
2. What Bottom Gap Does This Seal Cover?
The V456S12 is designed for bottom gaps of approximately 9–12mm. If your gap is smaller than 9mm, the fin may drag on the tray. If your gap is larger than 12mm, the fin may not contact the tray properly.
3. Can I Cut It to Size?
Yes. The seal is 950mm long and can be trimmed to fit your door width. Measure carefully before cutting. It is suitable for single doors up to 950mm wide.
4. How Do I Use the FREE D510 Threshold Bar?
Fit the D510 threshold bar on the tray or floor on the outside edge of the shower door, close to where the 12mm fin meets the surface. When the door closes, the 12mm fin should meet or slightly overlap the threshold to create a second barrier against water escape. A small overlap of up to around 5mm is usually enough. Too much contact may make the door harder to open and close.
5. Will It Stop My Shower Leaking Completely?
It helps reduce water escaping from under the shower door, especially when used with the included D510 threshold bar. However, results also depend on the shower tray height, floor slope, water direction and correct installation.
Suitable Applications
The V456S12 bottom shower door seal is suitable for frameless glass shower doors with a bottom gap of approximately 9–12mm. It is designed for 4mm, 5mm and 6mm glass and can be trimmed to fit doors up to 950mm wide.
The 12mm soft fin helps close the gap between the glass and the shower tray or floor, reducing water escape from beneath the door. For smooth operation, the fin should not be excessively longer than the actual gap. If the gap is too small, the fin may drag; if the gap is too large, the seal may not contact the tray effectively.
Each V456S12 also includes a free D510 threshold bar. This can be fitted to the shower tray or floor to create a second water barrier, helping improve protection where water tends to escape under the door.
This seal is suitable for compatible frameless hinged doors, pivot doors and some bath screens. It is not suitable for side magnetic seals, vertical closing seals, curved shower screens, sliding door tracks, metal-framed doors or bottom gaps outside the 9–12mm range.
