This seal is suitable if:
- Your glass is 4mm, 5mm or 6mm thick.
- Two straight glass doors meet in a 180° glass-to-glass closure.
- The closed gap is approximately 5–8mm.
- You need a matching pair of vertical magnetic seals.
- Your existing seals push directly onto the glass.
- Your required finished length is 2000mm or less.
Please choose a different seal if:
- Your glass is thicker than 6mm.
- Your doors meet at an angle rather than in a straight line.
- The gap is much smaller than 5mm or larger than approximately 8mm.
- Your enclosure has sliding doors.
- You need a bottom seal, drip seal or non-magnetic side seal.
Suitable Applications & Installation
ME456180 is a magnetic closing seal pair designed for 4–6mm straight shower glass.
It is intended for two glass doors that meet face-to-face in a straight 180° position. The profile works best where the closing gap is approximately 5–8mm, giving it a little more working range than versions designed for thicker glass and narrower gaps.
The gap does not need to measure exactly 8mm. A smaller gap within the stated range may still be suitable, provided the glass thickness and 180° closing arrangement also match.
The replacement seal does not need to copy every external measurement of the old profile. The main checks are the glass thickness, the way the two magnetic edges meet and the working gap.
The pair has no fixed left- or right-hand fitting direction, so either strip can normally be fitted to either door edge.
Each strip is supplied in a 2000mm length and can be trimmed before installation. Remove the old seals, clean and dry the glass edges, then press the new profiles on evenly from top to bottom.
Once fitted, close the doors slowly and check that the magnetic strips align and attract along the full height.
ME456180 is suitable for replacing seals that have become yellowed, brittle, loose or weaker over time. When the fitting measurements are correct, the new pair can help restore the closing action and reduce water passing through the centre joint.
