You just bought a lovely new curved shower screen seal? Great! Here is the quickest way to fit it.

There is not just one way of fitting a curved shower seal, but we believe this method is the best and easiest for installation.
1. remove curved shower screen seal
-
The old seal is brittle and useless.
-
Just grab the soft fin and pull it off hard!
-
Don't worry about damaging it.
2. Clean the Glass Edge
-
Use suitable cleaner to remove all limescale and mould from the glass edge.
-
A clean edge is key to a lasting seal.

3. Push on the New Curved Seal
Start from the shower door's inner side (near the hardware).
We install first, then cut. You must start from the inner side of the curved glass.

First, hook the curved bath screen seal strip's U-channel onto one corner of the glass edge.

Next, slightly expand the U-channel opening to easily push it onto the glass.
(Note: You can push it straight on, but expanding the U-channel first makes it much easier.)

Work your way slowly along the curve, pushing the rest of the seal into place bit by bit.
Push the remaining seal in gradually, bit by bit.
If you skip large sections and try to install the ends, the final fit will be extremely difficult.

Why Does it Pop Off at the Ends?
SIMBA seals use a pre-curved design. This stops your seal from popping off.
A typical 900mm * 900mm UK quadrant needs a seal radius of about 800mm.
If the seal radius is too large (like 1300mm), it’s not curved enough. It will spring back, crack, or fall off when you open the door.
Understanding Curvature:Smaller radius = Tighter curve. Larger radius = Flatter curve. A 800mm radius fits tightly. A 1300mm radius is too flat to seal your screen properly. |
Still confused?
No problem—[Image below shows the difference].
The image clearly shows that the SIMBA seal has a superior curve.
This is what we mean by SIMBA's curved shower door sweep being 800mm versus other brands' 1300mm.

For most curved screens, that 1300mm radius is simply too flat—it’s a common customer frustration.
As one review states: "I soaked the seal in warm water for 10 minutes, but it still wouldn't bend to fit my curved shower screen. It just cracked. Total waste of money."
SIMBA’s shower seal for curved door bends to a genuine $800\text{mm}$ radius. It will not crack or spring back.
4. how to cut a bath seal curved screen
Standard curved seals are 950mm long, which fits most P and D-shaped glass panels.
You can skip the measuring step.
Following Step 3, you now have the new seal fully installed.
Seal DirectionThe drip rail must always face inside the shower area.
|
You will have a leftover section of the seal.

Mark the excess using a marker pen.

Remove a small section of the shower screen seal from the glass where you marked it, rather than the entire seal.

New curved shower screen seal should be cut to this length.
-
Pro Tip: Use garden secateurs for a clean cut. If using regular scissors, score a line first, then snap the material.
-
Cut with the U-channel facing up to prevent damaging the structure.

5. Job Done!
-
Do a final check to ensure the seal is firmly in place.
-
Dry bathroom, problem solved. You successfully stopped the leak!

curved shower screen seal Important Notes
- STOP: Do not use soapy water or lubricant during installation! This speeds up mould growth and shortens the seal's life.
- Temperature: Do not wash the seal with water over $70^\circ\text{C}$ after installation. This causes deformation. (PVC seals are not suitable for sauna doors—you need a specific sauna door seal
- No Heating: Do not use a hairdryer to soften the seal. Our seals are designed to grip the glass firmly—this tight fit is the key to preventing water loss. Heating softens the material, destroying this grip.
