Check Before You Buy

This seal is suitable if:

  • Your glass is 8mm, 9mm or 10mm thick.
  • You have a frameless sliding shower door with two overlapping glass panels.
  • The measured gap between the two overlapping panels is approximately 15mm–21mm when fitting both strips as a pair.
  • You need a mid-size 12mm fin where an 8mm fin is too short but a longer fin may not be required.
  • You want to help reduce water escaping through the side overlap where the sliding panels pass each other.
  • Your required length is 2000mm or less.
  • You are replacing old, yellowed, cracked or loose F-Type sliding door overlap seals.

Choose another seal if:

  • Your glass is thinner than 8mm or thicker than 10mm.
  • The gap between the glass panels is smaller than 15mm or larger than 21mm when fitting as a pair.
  • You only want to fit one strip for a 15mm–21mm gap.
  • You need a shorter fin for a tighter overlap gap.
  • You need a longer fin for a wider overlap gap.
  • You need a magnetic closing seal.
  • You are looking for a bottom shower door seal, drip seal, threshold seal, guide rail seal or track seal.
  • Your shower door is hinged, framed, or has a thick metal edge trim.

FAQ

1. What glass thickness does this seal fit?

It fits 8mm, 9mm and 10mm frameless glass.

2. What gap is the 12mm fin suitable for?

When fitted as a pair, this seal suits overlap gaps of approximately 15mm–21mm between two sliding glass panels.

3. Can I use just one strip?

Single-strip use is not recommended for a 15mm–21mm gap. For this gap range, fit both strips as a pair.

4. Where should this seal be fitted?

It fits onto the overlapping edge of a sliding shower door, where the two glass panels pass each other.

5. How do I cut this seal to size?

Use your old seal as a cutting guide, or hold the new seal against the shower door and mark the required length before cutting.

Suitable Applications

The F810S12 Standard 12mm Fin F-Type Shower Seal Pair is a mid-size overlap seal for frameless sliding shower doors with 8mm, 9mm or 10mm glass.

It is designed for sliding door overlaps where the measured gap is approximately 15mm–21mm when both strips are fitted as a pair. This makes it a useful middle option when an 8mm fin is too short but a longer 15mm or 20mm fin may not be needed.

Fit the seals to the overlapping glass edges where the two sliding panels pass each other. This helps reduce water escaping from the side overlap while keeping the fin size proportionate to the gap.

To check the size, measure the space between the two overlapping glass panels at the point where they pass each other.

This seal is not intended for magnetic door closing edges, bottom shower door seals, drip seals, guide rail seals, framed metal edges, hinged doors, or glass thinner than 8mm or thicker than 10mm.

DO’S

  • Direct Press: Fit by pressing directly onto the glass edge to protect the surface.

  • Sharp Tools: Use garden pruners for a clean, professional finish.
  • Daily Rinse: Simply wash away soap suds after your shower.

About SIMBA Seals UK

SIMBA Seals UK is a specialist UK shower door seal replacement brand, backed by a glass seal manufacturing team focused on seal profiles since 1998.

Through showerdoorseal.uk, we help customers find the right replacement seal by checking the glass thickness, gap size, seal profile, frame channel and shower door design.

Our range covers common bottom, side, magnetic and framed shower door seals. For older or harder-to-match enclosures, our wider catalogue includes over 9,000 glass seal profiles, giving customers more options when a standard seal is difficult to identify.
