This threshold is suitable if:
- Your shower tray has at least 8mm of smooth mounting space.
- The clearance beneath the door or screen is approximately 4mm or more.
- A slightly smaller clearance still allows the door to open and close freely.
- You need a threshold that can follow a curve, corner or L-shaped layout.
- You want to use the threshold on its own or alongside a compatible bottom seal.
- Your required finished length is 950mm or less.
Choose another threshold if:
- The strip would obstruct the door when opening or closing.
- Your bottom clearance is clearly less than 4mm and leaves no room for the profile.
- The shower tray surface is rough, heavily textured or unsuitable for bonding.
- You need a rigid straight threshold rather than a flexible profile.
Suitable Applications & Installation Notes
PV29 is a soft solid PVC threshold strip with a compact 8mm × 4mm profile.
Its main advantage is flexibility. Unlike a rigid threshold, PV29 can be bent to follow curved shower screens, L-shaped corners and other non-straight tray layouts, making it useful where a fixed straight profile would not follow the shape of the enclosure.
It can also be used together with a compatible shower door bottom seal, creating a low raised barrier beneath the sealing fin to help reduce water travelling across the tray.
Before fitting, check the door movement rather than relying on the gap measurement alone. Around 4mm of clearance is recommended, although a slightly smaller space can sometimes work where the door still opens and closes without touching the strip — for example on some folding shower doors.
Do not fit PV29 where the threshold would catch, drag against or restrict the movement of the door.
The shower tray should provide at least 8mm of flat, smooth mounting width along the intended installation path.
The strip is supplied in a 950mm length and can be trimmed easily to suit the enclosure.
