This seal is suitable if:
- Your shower tray provides at least 10mm of flat, smooth mounting space.
- You need a raised flexible barrier for a bottom gap of around 10mm.
- Your framed shower door has a compatible T-slot wide enough for the 10mm base.
- The profile will not interfere with normal door movement.
- You want a strip that can be cut to the required length.
Choose another profile if:
- The available tray surface is narrower than 10mm.
- Your framed-door T-slot cannot accept the 10mm base.
- The upright section would prevent the door from opening or closing freely.
- Your existing bottom seal would be excessively compressed against the threshold.
- You need a much lower or narrower threshold.
Suitable Applications & Installation Notes
VH009 is a flexible T-profile shower seal designed for two common fitting situations.
It can be bonded directly to a flat shower tray using the pre-applied adhesive backing, creating a raised barrier that works with a compatible bottom shower door seal.
Alternatively, the 10mm base can be inserted into a suitable T-slot on some framed shower doors, making the same profile useful as a replacement framed-door seal.
For tray installation, allow at least 10mm of clean, flat mounting width. The profile is best suited to installations where the working clearance is around 10mm and where it can sit without restricting the movement of the door.
If a separate bottom seal meets VH009, check that the two flexible sections do not overlap excessively. Too much contact can increase drag and make the door harder to move.
The strip is supplied in a 2000mm length and can be trimmed with heavy-duty scissors.
For adhesive fitting, clean and dry the tray thoroughly, peel away the protective backing and position the strip carefully before pressing it firmly into place. Avoid repeatedly lifting and re-sticking the adhesive.
For the best bond, allow approximately 7–10 hours before using the shower.
