This seal is suitable if:
- Your shower door or frame has a retaining channel for an insert-type seal.
- The fixing section is compatible with the 6mm wide / approx. 5mm deep hooked profile shown in our dimensions.
- You need a long 35mm flexible fin to cover a relatively large opening.
- Your existing seal is fitted into the frame rather than clipped directly onto glass.
- Your required finished length is 2000mm or less.
Choose another seal if:
- Your door has no retaining groove or channel.
- The 6mm and 5mm fixing dimensions are significantly different from your existing profile.
- You need a glass clip-on U-channel seal.
- You need a magnetic or T-slot seal.
- A 35mm fin would interfere with hinges, rollers or normal door movement.
Suitable Applications & Installation Notes
VL002 is a long-fin insert seal commonly suited to framed shower doors, folding shower doors and shower screens that already have a narrow retaining channel.
The fixing section hooks into the existing frame, while the 35mm flexible blade extends across the open space beside or beneath the door.
For this type of seal, the most important check is not the overall appearance of the old strip. Compare the fixing section first:
- approx. 6mm outer width
- approx. 5mm retaining depth
- approx. 35mm flexible fin
If these dimensions are compatible with your existing channel, VL002 may be suitable even if the old fin has become distorted or shortened with age.
Because the fin is flexible, it can bend lightly against the adjoining frame, tray or door section. It should not be so compressed that it restricts normal opening and closing.
Supplied in a 2000mm length and can be trimmed to the required size before fitting.
